Mission NOT Impossible!
Today was my first day back to work since winter break. During break, I set out on a mission and completed it!
Now don’t judge me on the recipes I cooked, I was just attempting to try something I haven’t cooked before.

- Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies- They were awesome!
- Cherry Crumble Pie- I just made a traditional cherry pie, but put a crumble topping on instead of pie crust, YUM!
- Meatloaf- One of the only recipe, recipes my mom has!
- 12 Bean Soup- Recipe from a co-worker…that’s the first and last time we’ll have that!
- Mash potatoes- Yes, I have been living out of the house since I was 18, and with my husband since then, and I’ve NEVER made homemade mashed potatoes!

My Christmas break GOAL!
Since I work for a Catholic school, I'm lucky enough to have time off during the Christmas holiday. I decided instead of wasting away in front of the TV or going shopping with money we don’t have, I want to set a goal to accomplish during the break.
GOAL: Cook 5 NEW recipes!
Where you come in? I need ideas.
I have a TON a recipes in my recipe binder that I haven't tried. But deciding on 5 is a challenge. What are some tried and true recipes that you cook? Pass them along! =)

Oh my, 2010 is almost over!
Over the last almost six months, I've learned a few things.
So, Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to all. I wish you all the happiness in the world!
- I'm HORRIBLE at blogging. I really enjoy the idea of it, but every time I sat down and typed something, all I kept thinking was how bad it sounded. I've decided not to care (as much)!
- I do not like the Martha Stewart cupcake book. Enough said.
- I LOVE being married. I know this is going to sound bad, but I'm really enjoying becoming more "domestic". I LOVE cooking and trying new recipes. I'm trying to learn to be more crafty. If anyone has any ideas for easy craft ideas, they would be greatly appreciated (ahem….Amber & Ashley)! My hubby and I just moved into a house. I'm overwhelmed with the things I can do. I don't know where to start!

And so it begins...
It hasn’t even been a week since I decided to start this blogging adventure, and I’ve become slightly obsessed (it’s my personality I suppose)! Originally I wanted to bake only out of the Martha Stewart book, but since they I’ve bought 2 more books AND signed up for a cake decorating class. Yesterday my hubby and I went to Michaels so I could pick up a few supplies to make my first batch of cupcakes. I was like a kid in a candy store. I picked out the cutest paper liners that actually match my blog background (at least for the time being), and pastry bags and tips! I didn’t want to get too ahead of myself, but I could have spent a LOT of money on cake decorating supplies.
Today I will be baking my first batch of cupcakes. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve baked cupcakes before, mostly from a blue box with a doughboy on it! But on this adventure, I will make everything from starch. This afternoon I will be making yellow cupcakes with white frosting. This recipe is from the Martha Stewart book, you can find more at Marthastewart.com: Yellow Cupcakes and more delicious recipes, smart cooking tips, and video demonstrations on marthastewart.com.
